In a future where people can load their minds into computers, Tom is a guinea pig to a research group’s desire to create a VR experience for those who have died. It’s a temporary home for people who wish to be loaded back into a body, once technology allows it, but don’t want to sit in “cold storage” for that time.
As a beta tester, Tom experiences what it’s like to live in a world almost completely in someone else’s control, including his own memory and perceptions.
